Tahitian Sparkler

I finally finished my Tahitian Sparkler necklace! I found some green agate stones and matching beads, but not enough to make a long necklace. Six months later, I happened upon these long green agate tubes that were perfect to make the necklace the length I wanted.

Earrings!

I made these amethyst and crystal earrings for Bennie to match with her birthday necklace. My first pair of earrings!

My latest creative venture

Introducing...

Book thongs! Here is my first book thong (a/k/a bookmark) nestled between the pages of my Deepak Chopra book. I used Swarovski crystals and rondelles, an acrylic rose, a pink cat's eye, and two charms, an "A" and a "B" (for Andy & Buddy), all strung together on pink silk cord. This was so much fun to make, I'll probably be making many more!

Gun Metal Glitter

I made this necklace today after staring at these links for a long time. I snatched them at a Michaels in South Florida, not knowing what to do with them. I finally had some inspiration today. I used a beautiful S-clasp and some of the leftover acrylic crystals from my New Year's Eve Sparkler. Some lucky person might get this for Christmas! :)

New Year's Eve Sparkler Finished!

I finally finished my New Year's Eve Sparkler! I made this over the summer to wear on our anniversary this year. Andy seems skeptical. ;) We'll see how it looks with my black dress. These are acrylic "crystals" and rondelles. I used a silver chain and lobster clasp to finish it.

Aloha Dazzler

I finally made my Aloha Dazzler necklace! I've been conceptualizing this piece for a long time and finally had the time to make it. I started and finished it tonight. The pictures might be a little dark; I might re-take them during the day.

I used all glass beads on this piece, including some neat lampworked baubles...my first time using this type of bead. It's quite long on me, about mid-chest. My creative juices are finally flowing again! :) sdg

My inspiration

Here is my little Buddy, playing with his favorite necklace toy (made of stones his Papa picked out) even into the wee hours...that's grandpa watching TV in the background.

Bennie's Birthday Amethyst Beauty

This was Bennie's birthday necklace, and my first custom order! :) She liked my Coral Charms necklace and wanted something in purple. I love these amethyst coins. The pattern is the same as my coral necklace, just a touch longer. Another toggle and bar clasp with dangle adds the finishing touches. Happy Birthday Bennie!

Seagull's Paradise

Every time I look at this bracelet I think of seagulls flying around the beach. I used some of the leftover glass beads from my Blue Lagoon necklace and some "fake" plastic evil-eye beads (thanks Mom!) on another memory wire coil. Another little bird charm dangle adds the finishing touch .

Pastel Swirls

Amazingly I managed to finish two projects this weekend after I finished studying. And finally all of the mixed glass beads are gone. Time for a trip to the bead store. I used the leftover glass beads that were all in pastel shades and another memory wire coil I found in Mom & Dad's garage. I love these coil bracelets--they're so fast and easy to make and fun to wear. A heart charm fnishes it off.

Cinderella's bracelet

When I bought these pink cat's eye beads, I had a totally different plan for them (a necklace!), but they paired up so well with salvaged Swarovksi crystal rondelle's from the evil-eye bracelets Mom gave me. It turned out to be a nice bracelet to wear to work with my pink sweater.

Antique-y Charms

It took me forever to finally finish this bracelet! I used a brass chain for that antique-y look and slowly added all kinds of leftover beads on brass headpins for the charms. A brass toggle-and-bar clasp finishes it off. Great use of lonely leftovers!

Phantom Pearls

I finally finished it! I used a silver ring connector and made my own bar for the toggle. It's not exactly how I pictured it, but I do like it.

Waterfall

I used green glass pearl beads and green agate nuggets to make this weird assymetrical necklace. A brass toggle-and-bar clasp in the front and stone heart charm dangle finish it off.

Works in Progress

These are two necklaces that I have yet to finish. The one on the left is "Phantom Pearls" because it reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera. I need some kind of fancy pendant/clasp for the front. Still scouring the craft stores and websites. The necklace on the right is my "New Year's Eve Sparkler," which I'm hoping to wear on my 5th wedding anniversary this New Year's Eve! I think it needs a black velvet ribbon for the back, but I'm not sure how exactly to fnish it off yet.

Twist of Merlot

I found this memory wire coil in the stuff I salvaged from Mom & Dad's garage (circa 1998??). Wow. It did turn into a nice bracelet. I used purple and burgundy glass beads and finished it with a little silver bird charm.

Rainbow Eyes

I love this bracelet! Mom gave me a bunch of these evil-eye bracelets that are too small even for our wrists, with permission to cut them up and do as I please. I had the idea to do this linked bracelet for a couple of weeks now, and finally got some silver wire to link the beads together with. I love how it came out. I finished it with a chunky lobster clasp.

Classy Buttons

I saw the pattern for this bracelet in a New Zealand beading magazine and loved it. Finally, a way to use up all of those extra J. Crew buttons I've been collecting for 10 years! I used 10mm gold jump rings in the buttons and smaller 6mm rings to connect them. I love this fancy toggle & bar clasp. The pattern called fo 8 buttons but it was way too big for my wrist. I still have so many buttons leftover, I'll probably make some more of these. It's labor-intensive, but well worth it.

Blue Lagoon

For this necklace I used some leftover blue glass beads in different shades strung on gold wire, with gold-rimmed blue glass accent beads. The feather pendant was a throw-away from a friend, and I've been hanging on to it for a year, but it just seemed to fit here. I used a brass toggle & bar clasp to finish the necklace, worn at the front, of course.
